Jan's been sewing since she was about nine, so that's a lot of years of looking at a thing, thinking I can make that at home, sweeping whatever's on the kitchen table off the kitchen table and making a start.



This slapdash approach has taught her a lot about about vision, and the importance of holding on to it when the unpicker sees as much action as the sewing machine.

She's recently annexed younger daughter's bedroom as a sewing room as it gives the sewing room dog a lot more space to stretch out and means she can sew late into the night without disturbing anyone.
